Revision as of 00:16, 10 April 2018
The Jūnidantobi (十二段跳び) was a First Stage obstacle that debuted in SASUKE 23 as the first obstacle. After SASUKE 24, the Jūnidantobi was replaced by the Dome Steps in SASUKE 25.
Similar to the Godantobi and Rokudantobi, the Jūnidantobi is a set of eleven slanted planks, five on one side and six on the other, that competitors must jump across in order made it to the twelfth step (the finishing platform), hence the name. They are slightly packed closer together, and each log is angled slightly different to increase the difficulty.
Interestingly, unlike the Godantobi and Rokudantobi (when during the broadcast of Ninja Warrior, both obstacles were called as the Quintuple Step and Sextuple Step respectively), instead as the Duodecuple Step (following the naming pattern), the Jūnidantobi was called as the Twelve Timbers during the broadcast of Ninja Warrior (although there were actually 11 timbers instead of 12).
American Ninja Warrior Appearances
The Jūnidantobi appeared as the first obstacle in Stage One on American Ninja Warrior 5, replacing the Step Slider from the previous season, but was only called as the Timbers. Compared to the Jūnidantobi:
- There were only 8 steps instead of 11, and
- All the steps were angled the same way in this version (similar to the Godantobi or Rokudantobi).
On American Ninja Warrior 6, it was replaced by the Piston Road.
