Iwamoto Hikaru (岩本 照) is a stage performer, who first competed in SASUKE 33, but went out on the Quad Steps, despite training for the tournament. Despite the poor performance, he returned in the next tournament, where he made it further than last time, but fell on the Fish Bone, like many that day. However, in SASUKE 35, he exacted revenge on the Fish Bone, but went out on the new obstacle Dragon Glider. In SASUKE 36, he hesitated on the Fish Bone, was able to exact revenge on the Dragon Glider, but timed out just as he was scaling the Soritatsu Kabe and was just about to hit the buzzer.
In SASUKE 37, he wore a high number, 86, due to his close call last time. Unfortunately, he once again failed the Dragon Glider, as his right foot touched the water as he was dismounting.
In SASUKE 38, he wore his highest number to date, 88. He once again avenged himself on the Dragon Glider, and was able to complete the First Stage for the first time; however, he failed the Salmon Ladder Kudari in the Second Stage.
In SASUKE 39, he once again wore 88 and he even though it was raining, he was still able to complete the First Stage with ease. He got revenge on the Salmon Ladder Kudari but timed out later close to the end of the Reverse Conveyor on the Second Stage.
In SASUKE 40, he yet again wore #88 (which due to it being a anniversary tournament was #3988) and he was hoping to make it to the Third Stage for his first time. He once again started strong on the First Stage, but on the Dragon Glider, unfortunately, much like Sugeta Rinne earlier in the tournament, he derailed the second bar of the obstacle immediately after he transferred to it. And after a lot of struggle, he seemingly failed the obstacle for the third time when he tried to dismount from it. However, on the footages of his Dragon Glider attempt, it is clearly visible that he actually skimmed the water with the tips of both feet as he was struggling on the derailed second bar. For some reason, this was not acknowledged by producers as the timer did not stop after he skimmed the water. Most likely because they did not notice and as he failed the obstacle anyway there was no need for review. He was shown to be very upset at his performance.
Iwamoto would compete in SASUKE 41, but would once again fail on the First Stage, this time on the new obstacle, Twin Dia.
On July 10th, it was announced that Iwamoto would compete in the first ever SASUKE World Cup, representing Team Japan Blue. During the tournament, he competed in the second heat of the First Stage where he was hoping to get his revenge on the Twin Dia but shockingly had another fail on it, being one of three to do so during the competition which Team Japan Blue moved onto due to placing 3rd. While he didn’t compete on the Second Stage, his team was able to make it to the Third Stage where he was the second runner of the first heat on the Third Stage. On his first official attempt on the Third Stage, he made it all the way to the Cliff Dimension before failing the first transition getting 80 points for Team Japan Blue. This wasn’t enough at the end of the Stage as they got 280 points which got them eliminated.
Iwamoto would compete in SASUKE 42, where he finally got revenge on the Twin Dia, but he unfortunately failed on the Dragon Glider for the fourth time, this time while jumping to the first bar.
