Island Escape (アイランドエスケープ), stylized Island Escape in broadcast, was the fifth obstacle in the First Marine Stage that appeared in VIKING 3. The obstacle is derived from Unga Watashi (運河渡し) which appeared in the first two Pair VIKING tournaments.
The obstacle consist of a 1.8 metre jump to a small tilting floating platform, where after the jump is successful, the competitors will drag the floating platform with a rope to the other side. The distance from the floating platform to the dismount is 8 metres.
If the competitor shifted their weight too much on the island or missed the jump, they would fall in the water. Also, losing the rope to the water would signify as disqualification.
