Island Escape (アイランドエスケープ), stylized Island Escape in broadcast, was the fifth obstacle in the First Marine Stage that appeared in VIKING 3, replacing the Main Deck from the previous tournament. The obstacle was derived from Unga Watashi (運河渡し) which appeared in the first two Pair VIKING tournaments.
The obstacle consisted of a 1.8 meter jump to a small tilting floating platform, where after the jump is successful, the competitors would drag the floating platform with a rope to the other side. The distance from the floating platform to the dismount was 8 meters.
If competitors shifted their weight too much on the floating platform or missed the jump, they would immediately fall in the water. Also, dropping the rope to the water would signify as a disqualification.
