Hazard Swing (ハザードスイング) is a First Stage obstacle introduced in SASUKE 26, indirectly replacing Bridge Jump from the previous tournament. It was placed as the second obstacle. Competitors were provided a swing to reach a higher landing platform, which had a bar laid on it to help competitors pull themselves up to the landing mat. It was however not mandatory to use either the swing or the bar in a single run, as some competitors like Nagano Makoto either have a great height advantage and/or had the ability to throw enough momentum to dismount directly to the landing platform from the swing without touching the bar, while some competitors like David Campbell and Brian Orosco have such a good jump from the starting platform, they skipped the swing and went directly to the bar, although, Lee En-Chih confirmed that this movement is illegal, but American competitors claimed that they did not know about the rule, so they were not disqualified.
Despite all of that, the obstacle proved to be a significant time waster while still doing good damage for the second obstacle, as it eliminated ten competitors, which in some cases happened due to the competitors trying to leap straight from the starting platform to the bar without using the swing, though they would have been disqualified anyway. It was indirectly replaced by Spin Bridge in SASUKE 27.
A similar obstacle, called Swing Jump, later appeared as the fourth obstacle in Baltimore on American Ninja Warrior 5.
