Gavin Obey is a college student from Newburyport, MA who has competed on American Ninja Warrior.
American Ninja Warrior 16[]
He first competed in the sixth qualifiers of season 16. His run was digested, but he failed on Jawbreakers the fifth obstacle. He placed 8th overall and advanced to the semifinals.
Gavin appeared in the second half of the first episode of the semifinals where he raced against James Sannella. Gavin had the lead throughout most of the race so after James failed the Spin Hopper, Gavin was able to clear the course with the second fastest time putting him in the Safety Pass race against Jay Lewis. In the Safety Pass race, they were neck and neck for most of the race until he took a extra swing on the bar after Spin Hopper and Jay got ahead of him winning the Safety Pass instead of Gavin but still moved onto the National Finals.
Gavin's Stage One run would be digested in the National Finals. He would be one of many competitors to fail The Gambler, doing so on the jump to the spinning card, ending his rookie season.
Despite an incredible rookie season, he was not chosen to compete in American Ninja Warrior 17.
