Gary Hines is a professional handball player who plays the sport in Germany, but was originally born in Atlanta, Georgia. He has not only participated in Ninja Warrior Germany, but also in American Ninja Warrior 14.

He competed in the first season, clearing both of the first two rounds in 2nd place. He failed on the Balance Bridge on the First Stage
Ninja Warrior Germany 2[]
He returned for the second season. He once again made it to the finals where he failed on the Pole Grasper on Stage One.

He returned for the third season. He was eliminated during the semifinals.

He returned for the fourth season. He was once again eliminated during the semifinals.

Gary competed during the first qualifying episode, which was coincidentally filmed during his 38th birthday. There, he managed to hang on to the cliffhanger ledge on the Carnival. He attempted the Mega Wall and failed it, but he still cleared the course in eighth place. He later competed in the third semifinals episode. His run there was digested, but he had a great save on Hopscotch, as he managed to briefly hold on to the third panel with just two fingers. His run later ended at Box Office, the eighth obstacle. His time to the obstacle placed him 16th overall, meaning that he missed out on advancing to the national finals by one spot.
