Garrett Lam was a competitor who made his debut in American Ninja Warrior 9. He is known for having an exceptional academic resume, not only graduating from Rhodes Scholar with a degree from Oxford but also getting a double-major while at Harvard.
American Ninja Warrior 9[]
Garrett first competed in Denver in ANW 9. His run was cut, but he failed the second obstacle, the Ring Swing.
American Ninja Warrior 10[]
Garrett returned to compete in Minneapolis. Despite being all cut, he was the slowest competitor to reach the Battering Ram, which he failed. However, due to the difficulty of the previous obstacles, he was still able to advance to the city finals in 24th place.
His run was once again cut In the city finals, but he once again failed the Battering Ram, placing 26th overall.
American Ninja Warrior 11[]
Garrett returned to compete in Baltimore in American Ninja Warrior 11. It was revealed that he has a twin brother named Austin who has cerebral palsy. His qualifying run was shown and he managed to clear the course for the first time in his career. He placed 9th overall, being the slowest of the 9 finishers.
His city finals run was digested, but it was shown that he was one of many who failed on the unbeatable Angry Birds, as he failed the transition from the second board to the third board. He paced to the obstacle placed him 13th overall, but because Dave Cavanagh (who received the Speed Pass already in Baltimore qualifying) also landed in the top 12, he was able to barely advance to the national finals for the first time in his career.
His Stage One run was digested, but it was shown that he failed the second obstacle, Spin Your Wheels.
