The Flying Roll (フライングロール) was the only obstacle in the Third Stage in the redesigned KUNOICHI 2009. Competitors that advanced from the Second Stage used a trampoline to perform a flying roll over a high jump bar. The bar started at 1.60m (5ft 2in) and would get progressively higher until only three competitors were able to clear it. If a competitor failed the jump, they were allowed a second attempt.
In the actual tournament, only five people advanced from the Second Stage. Of the five, only three were able to clear the 1.80m (5ft 9in) bar in their two attempts, with Yamada Sachiyo and Kato Yuka both going out.
This obstacle was used in SASUKE Trials.
Differences with International Broadcasts[]
In Women of Ninja Warrior, the International rebroadcast of KUNOICHI 2009, the rebroadcast did not include the part of the Flying Roll in which the bar was raised to 1.60 meters. The show went directly to the portion in which the bar was raised to 1.80 meters (5ft 9in) with no mention of the former.
Competitors' Success Rate[]
KUNOICHI | Clears | Attempts | Percentage |
---|---|---|---|
2009 | 3 | 5 | 60% |
