The Floating Tiles first appeared in the Kansas City Qualifying Round of American Ninja Warrior 7. It consists of four suspended tiles which competitors must run across while maintaining their balance. The material holding the tiles in place, similar to that which holds the balls in place on the Spin Bridge, stretches making the tiles unstable. This obstacle is similar to both the Bungee Bridge, first appearing in SASUKE 18 and later in the Northeast Qualifying Round and Northeast Final in American Ninja Warrior 4, and the Slack Ladder, appearing in the Venice Qualifying Round and Venice City Final in American Ninja Warrior 6.
The obstacle make an appearance in season two of Ninja Warrior UK, as the third obstacle of the first two Heat. This obstacle has caused controversy as several competitors were disqualified after touching the supporting ropes due to the "rope touching" rule.
