Furutachi Ichiro (古舘 伊知郎) is a Stand-Up Comedian and former SASUKE Announcer, announcing as #1 Announcer since the first tournament. He was also the #1 Announcer in Pro Sportsman No. 1 tournaments. He left after SASUKE 12 due to being unhappy with how Kinniku Banzuke going since its rebrand and #2 Announcer Hatsuta Keisuke slid into his spot as the lead in the following tournament.
Away from SASUKE[]
He was widely known as Broadcaster/Sportcaster during his younger days. However, due to political reasons with TV Asahi (TV station he worked at after SASUKE days) in 2004, he left the station and never returned as Broadcaster anymore.
He also play in several Japanese series, with the latest being Yell in 2020.
However, the other side of him that no one rarely knows is that he is a Comedian specialising in Stand-Up. In fact, Furutachi had created his own stage group called Talking Blues that had running since 1988, about 36 years ago. He had launch a YouTube channel since 27 March 2020 as part of Talking Blues trying to deal with COVID-19 pandemic in Japan, which as of May 2021 had more than 50,000 subscribers.
