Erick Zamorano is a competitor who is one of Abel Gonzalez's students. He first competed in American Ninja Warrior 14.

American Ninja Warrior 14[]

He first competed in season 14 in the fourth qualifier. There, he was one of several to fail the Log Runner, where he misstepped on the third log and came up just short of the landing pad. He didn't make the top 30.

American Ninja Warrior 15[]

Erick returned in American Ninja Warrior 15, this time alongside his mentor Abel Gonzalez. He competed in the seventh qualifier, where unfortunately, history repeated itself as he once again failed the Log Runner. However, he was able to barely make the top 13, squeezing in at 13th place. But this meant his was in the runoff races against Andrey Collins, who placed 12th and failed the next obstacle, Kite Surfer.

During the runoff race, it proved to be a quick victory of Zamorano, as Collins fell early. Zamorano made it to Sideways before giving out, but he was awarded the runoff victory and ultimately advanced to the semifinals.

Erick later competed in the third round of semifinals, where he had the tough job of racing Vance Walker. Though Vance won the race, completing the course, Erick still earned a spot in the top two non-winners, as he was the fastest to Slingshot before falling, earning a spot in the national finals in his second season.

On Stage One, he completed the first two obstacles, but was one of many to fail the Giant Rollercoaster.

Trivia[]

  • In ANW 15, Erick Zamorano technically placed 15th in the mens' leaderboard, and was technically not supposed to participate in the runoff races. However, Hunter Ogden, who made it to the fifth obstacle that round, withdrew as he fractured his knee on the Log Runner and was ultimately unable to compete afterward. Additionally, Michael Neuman reached the fourth obstacle and withdrew as well. Hence, Zamorano was given the 13th spot averting elimination from two competitor withdrawals.
  • Erick is one of twelve ninjas who won the runoff races to also advance to the Las Vegas national finals.
