Double Down ANW13

American Ninja Warrior 13's Double Down

The Double Down is an obstacle, firstly introduced as the second obstacle during the fourth and fifth episode of qualifiers on American Ninja Warrior 13.

This obstacle consists of two bars which are placed in-between the structure of the track, in a similar appearance to the Double Dipper or Dragon Glider. Competitors must grab the first bar from the trampoline, pull the bar and the track upwards in a similar fashion to Crank It Up in order to make the bar sliding down the curve track. The bar will move back and forth at the end, so competitors must time the transfer to the second bar correctly, repeat the same process, and make the landing to the platform.

The obstacle retained the difficulty of both Crank it Up and the Double Dipper variants. During the fourth episode of qualifiers, it knocked out 25 competitors, including Angela Gargano, Cheyenne Arrington, Kevin Liang and John Huie.

During the fifth episode of the qualifiers, the obstacle once again proved to be destructive. A total of 24 competitors failed on the obstacle this time: just one competitor short of its previous appearance in the pervious episode. This included Miles Avery, McKenna Haase, Jimmy Choi, and most shockingly, Michael Torres (marking his first season where he was eliminated in qualifiers). At the end of the qualifiers, this obstacle simultaneously took out the highest number of competitors from a single obstacle in a qualifiers episode.

Ninja Israel 5's Double Down

On Ninja Warrior Israel 5, the Double Down, locally called עלה ורד (literally Rose Leaf) appeared as the sixth obstacle in the Stage One. However, unlike American Ninja Warrior 13, due to the lower landing platform, there was a rope replacing the trampoline as the medium to reach the first bar. The obstacle was very easy, as it eliminated only two out of 15 competitors who attempted it.
