Tomassoni competed in the fourth episode of qualifiers where he made it to the fifth obstacle, Final Frontier. He placed 17th overall and advanced to the semifinals in his rookie season.
He comepted in the fourth episode of semifinals. His run was cut, but like many, he failed the fifth obstacle, Kaleidoscope. And just like qualifiers, his pace to that point placed him 17th overall, and so he didn't advance to the national finals.
American Ninja Warrior 16[]
Tomassoni returned to compete in the fifth qualifiers. His run was cut, but got past the fifth obstacle this time around, clearing The Cubes and he cleared the course, hitting his first buzzer in 7th place.
He later competed in the first semifinals episode, racing against Mike Silenzi. The race was digested, but David cleared the course while Mike failed on Spin Hopper, advancing David to his first national finals.
David's run at the national finals was also digested but it was shown that he failed on the Jumping Spider after getting the jump into the chute before falling out almost immediately, ending his best season to date.
