Curtain Slider (カーテンスライダー) is a First Stage obstacle that introduced in SASUKE 23 as the second obstacle, replacing Circle Hammer. Competitors must grab onto a curtain and use their momentum to slide the curtain onto a track to reach the landing platform. Competitors that did not run fast enough into the obstacle would later fail to clear the obstacle, as the obstacle could stall midway through the track or it could move freely, causing competitors to get caught off guard and had to push the curtain on the track, draining the strength of the competitors. The most notable case of this is Lee En-Chih, as he lost one of his contact lenses due to being stuck and a strong wind blowing to his direction.
While simple in design and function, the obstacle did good damage for the second obstacle, due to competitors usually not throwing enough momentum when jumping to the curtain, and would also be a time waster for competitors that did not throw enough momentum to get through the obstacle in one swing. However, despite its difficulty, it was only used for one tournament and was replaced by a much easier X-Bridge in the next tournament.
Other Appearances[]
American Ninja Warrior[]
The Curtain Slider appeared as the fifth obstacle on American Ninja Warrior 4 in Midwest region and American Ninja Warrior 6 in Miami.
In this version of the obstacle, there were three curtains (one large curtain sheet and two long curtains).
Competitors must grab the first curtain (the large one) and use their momentum to slide the curtain. Then, competitors must grab the next two long curtains and swing those curtains to reach the landing platform to advance. In ANW6, there is a 3-foot gap between the last curtain and the platform.
During American Ninja Warrior 6's Miami finals, the number of long curtains was reduced from two to just one (due to there were 42 competitors who completed the Miami qualifiers course and advanced to Miami finals).
This version of the Curtain Slider had eliminated much more competitors than the one used in SASUKE 23, as several competitors failed to generate enough momentum to slide the curtain, resulting them getting stuck at the middle of the track. Because of this, it deemed more difficult for competitors to generate more momentum to slide the curtain and reach the long curtains. Several competitors who fell on this version were Marybeth Wang and Chad Riddle (both during American Ninja Warrior 6's Miami qualifiers).
Ninja Warrior Denmark[]
Curtain Slider appeared as the fifth obstacle of the Qualifiers. It was similar to the one from ANW4, and consisted of one zipline curtain and two stationary curtains.
Ninja Warrior Austria[]
Curtain Slider was the second obstacle of Heat 2 & 5 of Ninja Warrior Austria 1. It consisted of one sliding curtain on a zipline only. The right end of the zipline is wrapped to prevent the curtain from traveling all the way to the end.

Ninja Warrior Germany[]

The Curtain Slider also appeared in Ninja Warrior Netherlands. This version is essentially the same as the one from SASUKE 23. With the exception of a zipline instead of a metal track, and a stopper three-quarters the way down.
Ninja Warrior UK[]
On Ninja Warrior UK, the Curtain Slider appeared as the fifth obstacle in Heat 1, which was similar to the one used on American Ninja Warrior.
Then, the Curtain Slider appeared as the second obstacle in Heat 4 on Ninja Warrior UK 2, which was similar to the one used during American Ninja Warrior 6's Miami finals. This time, the obstacle became more brutal, as several competitors either lost their momentum from the first curtain or lost their grip while sliding the first curtain or trying to grab the long curtain.
