Clément Gravier (クレマン・グラビエ) is a French climbing instructor and a Professional Ninja athlete who as of now participated in Ninja Warrior France 5-8. Clément Gravier is one of the most consistent and skillful competitors of Ninja Warrior France, as he has a current record of 2nd place, 1st place, 2nd place, 2nd place, and is also widely considered as the top competitor of the more recent seasons of Ninja Warrior France. Gravier's first major accomplishment was him becoming the fourth participant in the history of Ninja Warrior France to achieve Total Victory (doing so in Ninja Warrior France 6), and winning the entire season as well. He completed the 23-metre high Rope Climb Final Stage (Tours des Héros) faster than the only other compeitor who achieved Total Victory in that season (Iliann Cherif) and with a time of just 25.16 seconds. Apart from that however, he also managed the Final Stage in both Ninja Warrior France 7 & 8, and in the latter season, he even became the first person in the show's history to achieve a second Total Victory. With these successes, Clément Gravier additionally became the fifth person in Ninja history to have reached the Final Stage three consecutive times (after Ōmori Akira, Nagano Makoto, Miyake Ayako & Jean Tezenas du Montcel), and to have achieved Total Victory twice in their career (after Miyake Ayako, Urushihara Yuuji, Morimoto Yūsuke & Yogev Malka & before Vance Walker).
Apart from Ninja Warrior France, Clément Gravier is also known to have participated in the Elite Male division of the 2023 World Ninja League (WNL) Championships. There, he made it all the way to the sixth obstacle of the Stage 2 (the Four Square).
History[]
Ninja Show Series[]
Ninja Warrior France 5[]
Clement first appeared in Ninja Warrior France 5 as one of Jean Tezenas du Montcel's student along with his brother, Antoine Gravier. He would easily clear through qualifiers and semifinals and would be the first to clear the renewed Stage One. Clément would have no trouble clearing timed portion of Stage Two, though his run would end on the third and last jump of Slingshot when he derailed the bar.
Ninja Warrior France 6[]
Ninja Warrior France 7[]
Ninja Warrior France 8[]
After the last episode of Ninja Warrior France 8 aired, Clément Gravier published an Instagram post in which he revealed a controversy regarding the Final Stage of the season. According to Gravier, he had to attempt the Final Stage twice because there was a safety wire malfunction during his first attempt, which resulted in his safety wire getting tangled around the rope. His first run was cut from the broadcast. Gravier claims that the production of the show probably did this intentionally to sabotage him in order to increase his fatigueness for the second attempt so that he would subsequently do worse. In addition, he claims that the only reason he and Matthias Noirel achieved Total Victory was because they both got an enormous amount of pull of their safety wire.
However, the production staff apparently gave Noirel way more pull than Gravier (which would be the reason as to why Noirel suddenly sped up at the end of his climb), in order to prevent Gravier from winning the show for a second time.
Ninja Warrior France: Clash of Nations[]
SASUKE World Cup 1[]
Clement would be invited to represent Team France on SASUKE World Cup 1. He would be the third runner of Heat 1, and would become the first to clear the First Stage with a time of 107.8s. Team France would move on to Second Stage, and Clement would be selected to race against Joe Moravsky on the Spider Climb. Clement would get to the buzzer first with a fast time of 9.54 seconds, beating Joe in the race. However, his fellow teammate, Charles Poujade, would fall midway through the Spider Climb during his race and this imposed a 20 seconds penalty on Team France, which subsequently caused them to not move on to the Third Stage.
