Carl Fantauzzo, Jr is a liquor store owner from Rochester, New York.
Carl has two sons, who have graduated from high school and graduated from college. One of which, Chris, also competed twice on ANW. Carl is given the nickname, The Big C. Fantauzzo also owns a Ninja Gym in Rochester, known as "The Warrior Factory".
American Ninja Warrior 6[]
Carl first competed in Denver in American Ninja Warrior 6. In Qualifying, Fantauzzo was the first to clear the Spikes into Cargo and Devil Steps, but failed to scale the Warped Wall.
Carl advanced to the city finals, as he placed 25th, but failed the modified Spikes into Cargo.
American Ninja Warrior 7[]
He returned in Pittsburgh in American Ninja Warrior 7. His run was cut, but he revealed on his submission video for next season that he failed Snake Crossing.[1] He was one of several to trip on the second beam.
American Ninja Warrior 8[]
Carl returned to compete in Philadelphia in American Ninja Warrior 8. His run was cut, but he was one of the many competitors that failed Rolling Thunder. Carl placed 27th overall and moved on to the city finals.
In the city finals, he got all the way to the back half of the course, scaling his first Warped Wall and redeeming himself after failing it previously two seasons ago in qualifying. He would eventually make it to the eighth obstacle, failing the Flying Shelf Grab. Carl placed 15th overall and was able to move on to the national finals for the first time in his career.
His run on Stage One was digested but it was shown that he failed the Sonic Curve. This is his best season to date.
American Ninja Warrior 9[]
Carl has confirmed on competing in Cleveland, Ohio in ANW 9, alongside his oldest son, Chris, who is now eligible to compete. However, neither of their runs were shown, and neither of them made the top 30. It was revealed, however, that Carl failed Razor's Edge.[2]
American Ninja Warrior 10[]
Both Carl and his son, Chris Fantauzzo, had competed in Philadelphia. However, Carl failed the Broken Bridge, and didn't make the top 30. His son, Chris, however, did make the top 30, making it to the fifth obstacle.
Carl's run was once again cut from braodcast. However, he would upload his run on his Facebook page[3]. There, he made quick work on the first two obstacles, but stumbled on the fourth triangle on Broken Bridge. He struggled on the obstacle for nearly 45 seconds, almost being able to save it, only to ultimately fall off the obstacle.
American Ninja Warrior 11[]
He competed in Baltimore this time. He had fell on the first obstacle, the Shrinking Steps, and he didn't make it to the city finals for the third time in a row.
