The Cannonball (キャノンボール) was the sixth obstacle in the First Marine Stage in the first two VIKING competitions and the seventh in VIKING 3.

It consisted of four spheres suspended in the air, each with a diameter of 90 cm. Competitor had to run across the spheres, which spun when touched. Moving too slow on the spheres resulted in many slipping and tumbling down into the water. SASUKE All-Star Yamada Katsumi failed on this obstacle in VIKING 2, as he made it to the third sphere before slipping, however he caught himself on the ropes suspending the last one before finally falling.

The obstacle made its SASUKE debut in SASUKE 27 as the Spin Bridge. Later, the Spin Bridge (mostly called as the Spinning Bridge) would be used on several SASUKE/Ninja Warrior's international formats (e.g. American Ninja Warrior, Ninja Warrior UK, SASUKE Vietnam, and SASUKE Ninja Warrior Indonesia), albeit several modifications had been made to make the obstacle harder than the one used in both VIKING and SASUKE.

KUNOICHI Version

The Cannon Ball (キャノンボール) is a brand new obstacle in KUNOICHI 9 as the seventh obstacle of the RED Stage (First Stage).

It consists of a huge ball (32kg in weight), similar to a hamster ball. Competitors have to push it uphill in an acutely-angled platform, in order to reach the buzzer that would advance competitors to the BLUE Stage (Second Stage).
