Cameron "Cam" Baumgartner is a gymnastics coach from Chicago who calls himself "Cam the Bomb".
American Ninja Warrior 11[]
In American Ninja Warrior 11, he competed in Cincinnati. In qualifying, his run was digested but he cleared the course with the third fastest time, just missing out on the Power Tower.
However, in the city finals, after an amazing performance of finishing the course entirely, a shock came when he was later disqualified on the Spinning Bridge after touching the support ropes, thus ending his rookie season. He was actually shown when Zuri Hall was introducing Slam Dunk.
American Ninja Warrior 12[]
Cameron returned to complete in the second qualifying episode. His run was digested, but it was shown that after he had a near fail on the Shrinking Steps, he once again cleared the qualifying course in 5th place. He later competed in the first semifinal episode. There he once again cleared the course and this time without being disqualified. He placed 3rd overall and moved on to the finals. In the finals, he was once again looking strong but on Dragonback, he was so close to completing the obstacle, but when he hopped the bar over the dragon's head, he didn't let go of the bar, so the safety cord on the bar pulled him back over the water and was immediately disqualified. He busted his lip when he failed and also didn't move on to the top eight Power Tower playoff.
American Ninja Warrior 13[]
Cameron returned for his third season in the final qualifying episode. His run was digested, but he once again cleared the course. He was 4th overall.
He later competed in the final semifinals episode. His run was once again digested, but he managed to clear the semifinal course for the second straight year. Like last year, he placed 3rd meaning that he just missed out on going to the Power Tower but he still advanced to his first national finals.
In Vegas however, he shockingly failed on just the second obstacle Swinging Blades after missing grab from the trampoline jump to the first blade, ending his season.
It is worth noting, however, that during the second and third episode of the National Finals, he was shown to demonstrate/test the Stage Two obstacles; given the shots taken, it is implied he cleared all of them successfully. Despite this, it remains to be seen if this run was under timed conditions.
American Ninja Warrior 14[]
Cameron returned for his fourth season in the third qualifying episode. His run was digested, but he once again cleared the course, doing so in 5th place. He later competed in the third semifinals episode. His run there was also digested, but he cleared the semifinal course for the third straight year. Like in the qualifiers he placed 5th and he advanced to the national finals for his second straight year. His run on Stage One was mostly cut, but he was shown while they were reviewing the leaderboard. He cleared the course with 24.63 seconds left. On Stage Two, he finished with 8 seconds remaining and moved on to Stage Three for the first time. On Stage Three, he became the first (and only) Chicago ninja to get past the Ultimate Cliffhanger. He later failed on the next obstacle, Pipe Dream, ending his best season to date.
American Ninja Warrior 15[]
Following his best season, Cam returned in American Ninja Warrior 15 in the second qualifying episode. This time, he was hoping to complete the course in under 1:20 so he could attempt the Mega Wall. However, his time was off, his clear time being 1:31.81. Despite this, he still hit his fifth consecutive buzzer on a qualifying course, placing 4th overall. In the semifinals, he won against Tatsumi Yanaba and advanced to the national finals for the third straight year. His run on Stage One was digested, but he shockingly failed on the Jumping Spider, ending his season.
American Ninja Warrior 16[]
Cam returned in ANW 16 in the third qualifier. Once again, his run was digested, but he kept his perfect record on qualifying courses intact, placing 5th overall.
He returned in the first round of the semifinals, racing against Nathan Green. The race was digested and Nathan failed on Sideways, while Cam went on to complete the course, sending him to the national finals.
Cam was digested on Stage One of the national finals, where he got revenge on the Jumping Spider and cleared the stage with a time of 3.59 seconds left.
On Stage Two, he raced against Josiah Pippel. Despite losing the race and his time not being fast enough to advance due to the rule change, he was able to clear the course.
He didn't compete in American Ninja Warrior 17.
Trivia[]
- Cam is the fourth ninja to clear the ANW12 and ANW14 version of the Falling Shelves.
- He is the first competitor to clear a semifinals course (including ANW11 despite his DQ) six times straight.
