Caiden Madzelan is a high schooler from Troutdale, Oregon.
American Ninja Warrior Junior[]
Caiden first competed on the inaugural season of American Ninja Warrior Junior. His qualifying runs were shown in Episode 15. In the seeding round, he defeated Tyler Kurtzhals to advance to the knockout round in the winners' seed. There, he beat Paris Juarez and advanced to the final showdown. In the final showdown, against Ben Steinhauer, he won his third straight race, advancing to the semifinals. Unfortunately, in the first round of the semifinals, Nate Pardo defeated him, and he was eliminated.
American Ninja Warrior 13[]
He first competed on American Ninja Warrior during the fourth qualifying episode. He had a strong run throughout the course. He attempted the Mega Wall, which he just missed, but he still completed the course, placing 6th and was also the top teen competitor of the night.
He later competed during the second semifinals episode. His run there was digested, but he was one of many who failed Padlock. His time to the obstacle placed him 11th overall, qualifying for the national finals.
His run on Stage One was also digested, but after taking 3 attempts to get the transition from the first hook to the second on the Fly Hooks, he timed out on the cargo net, ending his rookie season.
American Ninja Warrior 14[]
He returned for his second season in the fifth and last qualifying episode. His run was cut, but he once again cleared the course, doing so with the fourth fastest time that episode.
He later competed during the second semifinals episode. His run there was digested, but he once again failed the eighth obstacle, this time being Box Office. He placed 5th overall and advanced to the national finals for the second straight season.
His run on Stage One was cut, but it was revealed that he fell on Tetherball.
American Ninja Warrior 16[]
Caiden returned for his third season in the first qualifier. His run was cut, but he shockingly failed the fourth obstacle, Duck Duck Goose, marking his first time failing the qualifier. He placed 12th overall, so he had to compete in the run-offs against Jonas Harmer to secure his spot in the semifinals. Unfortunately, the match ended quickly as Caiden failed on the very first obstacle, Home Run, with his feet overshooting the third step. As such, this marked the first time he failed to advance to Vegas, let alone the semifinals.
Caiden later revealed in an Instagram post that he had food poisoning at the time of filming in Los Angeles, having mentioned that he struggled to put sufficient fluids in his body hours before running the course. All of which thus affected his ability to focus.
