Brett Hernandez Strong, better known as B Strong, is a camp counselor from Florida.
American Ninja Warrior 13[]
He competed as a 19 year old rookie in the third qualifying episode. He said that he wanted to be rookie of the year. He was looking pretty strong on the course, completing the first five obstacles. After completing Pretzel Twist, he decided to go for the Mega Wall and he successfully delivered, taking home $10,000, putting his name in the conversation for rookie of the year.
He later competed in the second semifinals episode. His run was digested, but he was one of many to fall on Padlock. He pace to the obstacle placed him 10th overall and he qualified for the national finals as a rookie.
On Stage One, however, he shockingly failed the Swinging Blades. He was shown to be extremely disappointed following his run.
American Ninja Warrior 14[]
He returned to compete in the first qualifying episode. His run was digested, but he managed to get up the Mega Wall for the second season in a row. He placed 7th overall. However, in the second semifinals episode, his run was again digested, but it was shown that he was one of many to fail Hopscotch and did not move on to the national finals.
Brett was set to compete in American Ninja Warrior 17 but was later removed for an unknown reason.
Trivia[]
- Brett Hernandez Strong is the second rookie to complete the Mega Wall, after Caleb Bergstrom in American Ninja Warrior 11's Atlanta finals. Later in the same episode, Vance Walker would later be the third rookie to do so as well.
- During his qualifier run on American Ninja Warrior 13, he wore an American headband similar to the one Drew Drechsel wears, having been mentored by him. Since Drechsel's arrest however, his decision to continue wearing it has been met with minor controversy. In a video posted on his Instagram, Brett defended his fashion choice, mentioning that he doesn't condone Drechsel's actions and doesn't look up to him anymore, but he still believes his fashion choice is his call and should not be negatively associated with Drechsel because of his recent crimes.
