Ninja Israel 2's Boomerang Omega

אומגת הבומרנג, translated as Boomerang Omega, is an obstacle, firstly introduced as the second obstacle in Heat 6 and Heat 13 on Ninja Warrior Israel 2.

In essence, competitors must slide down an inverted V-shaped bar that looks like a boomerang (resembling the handles used on the Spinball Wizard or V Formation) and then time their release to grab a rope and reach the landing platform to advance.

The obstacle was particularly trivial, as only 6 out of 42 competitors failed on it.

The Boomerang Omega later appeared on Ninja Warrior Israel Junior as the second obstacle in Heat 1. The rope at the end of the obstacle was removed, requiring the competitors to time their release from the handle to reach the landing platform.

Ninja Warrior Germany 5's Boomerang to Cargo Net

In Ninja Warrior Germany 5, a variation of Boomerang Omega, locally called Cargo-Netz mit Bügeln (literally Cargo Net with Underwires) appeared as the second obstacle in Preliminary Round 5. The obstacle featured an inverted V-shaped handle that was attached to a swing wire, and a Cargo Net (similar to Jump Hang) as a medium to reach the landing platform. Competitors must grab the handle first, then swing to the Cargo Net and finally climb down to the landing platform.

Trivia[]

  • The obstacle in named after a thrown hunting weapon typically constructed with aerofoil sections (though, it it traditionally made with wood) and is designed to spin around an axis perpendicular to the direction of its flight.
    • Despite the Australian origin of the tool, the obstacle has not appeared on Australian Ninja Warrior.
  • The obstacle is one of the few instances that are known to be created by an international show itself and is not based on obstacle replicas from other competitions such as American Ninja Warrior, SASUKE, and KUNOICHI.
  • The Boomerang Omega borrows aspects from a few obstacles, namely:
    • UFO: the concept of this obstacle is a zipline track and a rope placed after, making the obstacle was similar to the UFO in Ninja Warrior UK 2.
    • V Formation: The inverted V-bar is similar to the V-shaped handles on V Formation.
    • Bag Catch: the obstacle was similar to the Bag Catch in Ninja Warrior Switzerland, albeit the punchbag-shaped pendulum was replaced by the rope.
