The Beach Flags (ビーチフラッグス) was the final event introduced in the first Pro Sportsman Tournament in Pro Sportsman No. 1 1995 and has been a notable Sportsman event ever since.
The event itself involves a group of competitors laying down flat on their stomachs facing behind the track. Once a whistle is blown, they must stand up and run across the 18 meter track to grab a limited number of flags. The competitors who managed to grab a flag advances to the next rounds of the event. These matches would occur until the final round in which the competitor who grabbed the last solo flag will be the Winner of the Event.
There is also an additional rule in which when a competitor physically interferes with another opponent or take away the flag that an opponent has won, it will be considered as a foul and they will be disqualified.
This came in play during 8th Celebrity Sportsman No. 1 during the semifinals of the event. During this match where the three competitors remaining must race to grab two flags, Iketani Naoki had grabbed Nishiyama Koji's arm from behind and pushed him out of the way allowing him to grab the flag. After a quick deliberation, Iketani's act of grabbing Nishiyama's arm was considered foul and he was disqualified from the event. However, because of this, Nishiyama's left shoulder had dislocated, removing him as well from the event and tournament entirely. With the two competitors out from the event, the finals was then cancelled and Shōei was given the win of the event.
This event would appear in thirteen Pro Sportsman Tournaments, eleven Celebrity Survival Battles, and all three Amateur Sportsman Tournaments. This event would have a similar iteration in the form of Mountain Flag and Crazy Castle and also become one of the few Sportsman events that appeared in Sports Danshi Grand Prix.
