Barry Boyd is a stay-at-home dad from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who first competed in American Ninja Warrior 15.
American Ninja Warrior 15[]
Barry first competed in American Ninja Warrior 15's fifth round of qualifying. His run was digested, but he cleared the course in his rookie debut with the second fastest time, advancing to the semifinals.
Barry raced against Roo Yori in the semifinals. Roo failed Hopscotch, while Barry cleared the course, punching his ticket to the national finals.
On Stage One, Barry made short work of the first three obstacles, but fell on the Jumping Spider, ending his rookie season.
American Ninja Warrior 16[]
Barry returned to compete for his sophomore season in American Ninja Warrior 16's fifth round of qualifying. His run was cut from the broadcast, but it was revealed he failed The Cubes, placing 11th and advancing to the semifinals.
During the semifinals, he raced Austin Gray. Both athletes cleared the course. However, Austin beat Barry to the buzzer, earning a spot in the national finals. Despite this, Barry still advanced as one of the top 2 non-winners, once again returning to the national finals.
On Stage One, Barry got revenge on the Jumping Spider before struggling on The Gambler and falling on the obstacle, ending his best season to date.
American Ninja Warrior 17[]
Barry returned to compete for his third season in American Ninja Warrior 17's third round of qualifying. His run was digested, but he failed on V Formation, once again falling on the fifth obstacle. He still once again advanced to the semifinals by placing 13th overall.
Barry later competed in the last semifinals episode. His run there was also digested, but he got revenge on V Formation before he failed on Corkscrew. He didn't reach the obstacle fast enough to make the top 20 as he placed 21st at the end of night, ending his season and marking the first time that he didn't advance to the national finals.
