Bar Glider (バーグライダー) was a Third Stage obstacle introduced as the final obstacle of SASUKE 27, replacing the relocated Flying Bar from the previous tournament. It was similar to Pipe Slider, except that the second half of the track was elevated 15 cm (about 6 inches) higher than the first half of the track, forcing competitors to jump the bar up to the second half of the track, similar in vein to Salmon Ladder. Due to the second half of the track being at an angle as opposed to completely parallel to the water, at the end of the track, there was a stopper for the competitors to lock the bar in place (much like Gliding Ring) to help aid the competitors in dismounting.
Only two competitors ever attempted this, Matachi Ryo and Urushihara Yuuji. Both easily cleared the jump due to the stopper placed at the end. Urushihara even broke the wire that was attached to the bar. He later achieved his second Kanzenseiha, and so, this obstacle only lasted for one tournament and was replaced by the returning Pipe Slider in the following tournament.
A similar obstacle, called Stair Hopper later appeared as the ninth obstacle on American Ninja Warrior 8 during Philadelphia finals.
