Australian Ninja Warrior 6 was the sixth and final season of Australian Ninja Warrior, and the second season after the total victories of Zak Stolz, Charlie Robbins, and Ben Polson on Australian Ninja Warrior 4. The season premiered on June 27th, 2022, taped at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney’s Olympic Park (the same location for the previous season).
This season featured new cast of presenters. Tennis legend and commentator Jim Courier and journalist and presenter Leila McKinnon served as the host and co-host, replacing Rebecca Maddern and Ben Fordham respectively, with radio broadcasters Will McMahon and Woody Whitelaw (a.k.a Will & Woody) from KIIS FM’s national Drive show replacing Shane Crawford as sideline reporters.[1] In addition to that, the producers have reduced the lower-age limit for the competitors to be eligible to compete from 18 years old from the past five seasons to 16 years old, producing a new generation of competitors.
In ad-breaks and promotional videos shown for this season, events from the American Ninja Warrior: All Stars Special/All Star Spectacular were shown such as Big Dipper Freestyle and Rising Mega Warped Wall, possibly hinting at another Australian Ninja Warrior: Record Breakers special after the main season finished. This would later be confirmed during the promotional video for the grand final in which after the season finale, the second edition of the Record Breakers special would be aired. [2]
On September 15th, 2022, Channel 9 announced that Australian Ninja Warrior was dropped out of its 2023 programming line-up possibly due to low ratings, resulting the cancellation after six seasons.[3]
The Heats[]
At the end of each of the four heats, the top 18 competitors would advance to the semifinals and the top four competitors would compete on the Power Pool, a side-by-side obstacle course similar to the one used on Team Ninja Warrior/American Ninja Warrior: Ninja vs. Ninja and American Ninja Warrior Junior, with the winning competitor earning the right to choose his/her opponent in the semifinals.
About the halfway point of Heat 1, a Celebrity Challenge was held. In a similar format to Celebrity Ninja Warrior: Red Nose Day, each of the three celebrity competitors was paired with a top competitor served as his/her mentor and cheerleader. Only the celebrity competitor who completed the most number of obstacles would win AU$10,000 for his/her charity (time was not considered). If there was a tie between the celebrity competitors, they must attempt the Warped Wall with just one attempt as a tiebreaker.

The Semifinals[]
Major changes were made to this season's semifinals. In a similar format to Team Ninja Warrior/American Ninja Warrior: Ninja vs. Ninja and American Ninja Warrior Junior, two competitors would battle against each other in a side-by-side course. 24 competitors would compete in each semifinal episode consisted of twelve matches on the first six obstacles, with the winning competitor in each match advancing to the grand final and the losing competitor being eliminated. For the winning competitors who completed the first six obstacles, they must then continue their runs with three more obstacles, with the farthest and fastest competitor receiving a second-chance advantage in the grand final (akin to the Safety Pass from American Ninja Warrior).
About the halfway point of Semifinal 1, a Celebrity Challenge was held once again. This time, following the semifinals format, four celebrity competitors would compete across two head-to-head matches, with the winning competitor in each match receiving AU$10,000 for his/her charity.

The Grand Final[]
36 competitors from the semifinals would compete to become the next "Australian Ninja Warrior", with AU$200,000 up for grabs for the competitor who achieved total victory and AU$100,000 for the competitor who made the furthest in the fastest time (but didn't achieve total victory).
Stage One[]
A slight change was made to this season's Stage One. The 36 finalists would compete across eighteen head-to-head matches on the first six obstacles made side-by-side. In each match consisted of two competitors matched up based on their placings in the semifinals, only the competitor who completed the Warped Wall and hit the buzzer first was able to continue his/her run and the slowest competitor would be eliminated. If neither of them reached the Warped Wall (i.e. failing to complete or being timed out on the first six obstacles), both of them would be eliminated.
Although it was not shown during the broadcast and only shown exclusively via 9Now, a Celebrity Challenge was held for the third time this season.[4] Three celebrity competitors would compete in Stage One course, with the furthest and fastest competitor winning AU$10,000 for his charity.

③ Cat Grab
④ Salmon Ladder to Bar Hop
⑤ Spring Forward
