Australian Ninja Warrior 4 was the fourth season of Australian Ninja Warrior, which premiered on July 26th, 2020 at Channel 9. For this season, 160 competitors participated over four qualifying heat episodes, two semifinal episodes, and two grand final episodes.
It is worth noting that half of this season's competition was taped before social distancing restriction came into place due to COVID-19 pandemic. This became evident when they introduced "Audience Lock-Out" during the semifinals and in Stage One of the grand final, only allowing family members and close friends of the competitors to attend the taping. Later in the season finale episode, the competition was taped without any audience, and family member and close friend of the competitors.
It was also announced that at the end of the season, a two-part special named Australian Ninja Warrior: State of Origin would be aired, consisting of different teams based on different states of Australia.
The Heats[]
The Heats were run over in just four episodes, with 40 competitors in each heat. The 16 fastest competitors who completed the course in each heat would advance to the semifinals. If less than 16 competitors completed the course, the competitors who got the furthest and fastest round the course would advance to the semifinals. There was no time limit in the heats.
Similar to the city qualifiers round on American Ninja Warrior 11, the heats on this season also featured the Power Tower. The top two competitors from each heat would compete on this side-by-side obstacle course, with the winning competitor receiving a ten-second time advantage in the semifinals.

The Semifinals[]
The Semifinals were run over in two episodes, with 32 competitors in each semifinal. The 12 fastest competitors who completed the course in each semifinal would advance to the grand final. If less than 12 competitors completed the course, the competitors who got the furthest and fastest round the course would advance to the grand final. There was no time limit in the semifinals.
Similar to the city finals round on American Ninja Warrior 11, the semifinals on this season also featured the Power Tower. The top two competitors from each semifinal would compete on this side-by-side obstacle course, with the winning competitor receiving a second-chance advantage in the grand final (a very similar to the Safety Pass on American Ninja Warrior 11).

The Grand Final[]
The Grand Final was where the remaining 24 competitors from the semifinals would battle it out to become the first "Australian Ninja Warrior" and the cash prize of AU$400,000 (since no competitor achieved total victory during the past three seasons, the prize money had been rolled over to this season). If no competitor achieved total victory, the competitor who made the furthest than any other competitor (also known as the Last Man Standing) would receive the cash prize of AU$100,000.
Just like on the past two seasons, the grand final on this season was run over in two episodes, with the first episode being served for Stage One and the second episode (season finale) being served for Stage Two and so on.

Stage Four (Mt. Midoriyama)[]
This stage differs from the traditional format where competitors have to beat the time set by the competitor who has achieved Total Victory with the fastest time, akin to breaking records. The time limit will be renewed immediately once the fastest Kanzenseiha is achieved. This differs rule later used since Ninja Warrior France 5.

Time limit: 30 seconds.

Charlie Robbins | 1st | 2 | Total Victory (3.44 seconds left) | Second competitor in Australian Ninja Warrior history to achieve total victory. As a side note, the time limit corresponds with the exact time taken for Stolz to achieve Total Victory, which is 29.80 seconds. |
Ben Polson | 7th | 2 | Total Victory (4.44 seconds left) | Third competitor in Australian Ninja Warrior history to achieve total victory. Since he completed Stage Four (Mt. As a side note, the time limit corresponds with the exact time taken for Robbins to achieve Total Victory, which is 26.56 seconds. Last Man Standing. |
