Austin Hair is a former professional wakeboarder from North Carolina who first competed on American Ninja Warrior 13. His wife, Lisa Hair would compete alongside him in American Ninja Warrior 15.
American Ninja Warrior 13[]
Austin first competed in the third qualifying episode. There, he had an impressive run, being able to clear the course in his rookie debut in 7th place. He later competed in the third semifinals episode. His run there was digested, but it was revealed his wife was pregnant with their first child at the time of taping. However, Austin failed the Diamond Dash, going out on the fourth obstacle, ending his rookie season.
He did revealed that both he and his wife got the call to compete in American Ninja Warrior 14, but due to the vaccine mandate, they decided not to compete in the competition.
American Ninja Warrior 15[]
After missing the previous season, Austin returned to compete in the fourth qualifying episode. This time, he competed alongside his wife Lisa Hair. His run was digested, but he surprisingly failed The Cubes, going out on the fifth obstacle. Luckily he went far enough to advance to the semifinals as he once again placed 7th overall.
Austin was up against Ryan Stratis on the last round of semifinals. Their race was digested, but in an upset, both competitors fell on Sideways, but due to Austin reaching the obstacle first, he won the race, and earned a spot in the national finals in his second season.
His run was digested on Stage One, but he struggled with traction on the Jumping Spider, costing him time and energy. He ultimately failed the next obstacle, The Gambler, ending his sophomore season.
American Ninja Warrior: Couples Championship 2[]
While Austin wasn't chosen for American Ninja Warrior 16, he and his wife Lisa appeared in the American Ninja Warrior: Couples Championship 2. He was able to get through the final three obstacles (even getting revenge on the fifth obstacle this time being Ring the Bells) and along with the start from his wife, they were able to get six points guranteeing them a spot in the second round. In the second round, they raced against David Bergstrom-Wright and Caitlyn Bergstrom-Wright, while Lisa was able to get her revenge on the first obstacle she got behind David and he wasn't able to catch up to Caitlyn eliminating them in the first round of racing.
