Atarashi Ichirō (新 一郎) is the first person ever to pass the First Stage while wearing #1, and the only competitor (so far) to ever wear #1 twice.
His first appearance was in the first competition, as he timed out on the Free Climbing. He would return in SASUKE 2, wearing number 1, but he failed on the Maruta Nobori. In SASUKE 3, he ended up failing the First Stage yet again in an all cut performance.
However, in SASUKE 4, he would once again wear the number 1 position. Although his First Stage run was cut, he would clear the stage and become the first person to clear the First Stage while wearing the number 1. On the Second Stage however, he would time out on the Gyakuso Conveyor, and this was his final SASUKE appearance.
Only two other people did what Atarashii achieved in SASUKE 4; Yamada Koji in SASUKE 12 and Kanno Hitoshi in SASUKE 27.
