Aoki Yasuo (青木 保夫) is a 3-D sculptor who always brings a sculpture of a SASUKE obstacle with him to the starting line. He has competed in twelve SASUKE tournaments, but has never cleared the first obstacle. He, Harashima Masami, and Kuramochi Minoru are usually given consecutive starting positions.

Aoki was indirectly involved in a very bizarre incident in SASUKE 25. In the lottery to draw start positions before the tournament, he drew #48. Levi Meeuwenberg, who had drawn #39, slipped while on the Dome Steps and steadied himself using his hands, which is illegal. Meeuwenberg protested, however, claiming a mistranslation of the rules. He was granted a mulligan, which is not altogether unusual, but was given Aoki's bib; Meeuwenberg appears on the broadcast wearing #48. Aoki was cut from the broadcast but it is known he failed the Dome Steps, that can be seen on the american brodcast. A complete list of competitors' names were shown prior to the Second Stage, where Aoki was listed with Meeuwenberg's original start position, #39, despite in all likelihood not ever using it.

Incredibly he was able to beat the first obstacle for the first time in any show on Viking 2. He however couldn't get pass the obstacle the Loading Dock.
