Andy Taylor is a former electrician from the Florida area that brought his free running experience to American Ninja Warrior. He competed in seasons 3, 4 and 5. He is known for running with blue dyed hair.
American Ninja Warrior 3[]
In his rookie debut, Taylor was completely cut from broadcast. His result was later revealed in his submission video for season four. What had happened to him in his run was something that had happened to dozens of other competitors that afternoon in qualifying. Despite having parkour experience, Taylor slipped off the Quad Steps due to them being soaked with water.
American Ninja Warrior 4[]
Entering his sophomore season, Taylor aimed to show everyone his true potential after his disappointing rookie season. He was invited to the Southeast qualifiers in Miami. His qualifying run was digested and he finished the course in 1:42:75. This time was good enough for Taylor to qualify 15th overall.
In the Southeast Finals, Taylor was once again digested. You can find his full run uploaded to his YouTube channel. Taylor got through the first half of the course at blistering speed, but took a very long break before attempting the Salmon Ladder. This break and his slow climb up the Cargo Net contributed to him finishing in 2:58:30, the 11th slowest time out of the 18 finishers.
Excited to compete in the first ever National Finals, Taylor was prepared to tackle Las Vegas. Unfortunately, NBC barred him from attempting Stage One, listing medical liability. Taylor failed a health screening, with medical staff claiming he had an irregular heart beat. Taylor was offended by this, claiming, "They said I had a fat kid heart." Taylor's spot in Vegas was then given to Ben Wicks, the fastest of the Cycle Road fails. His spot was not given to his friend Patrick Cusic or fellow competitor Ryan Saegert as both were already planned as Wild Cards.
American Ninja Warrior 5[]
Although never being televised, according to competitor Jonathan Sharp Brown, Taylor did in fact return to Miami Qualifiers in 2013. Brown claims that Taylor had failed the Slider Jump after missing the transition to the cargo net. Which makes this even more dubious is the fact that Taylor claims to have had a broken foot during 2013 and not noticing it until seeing a doctor in South America. Taylor's application for season six was promptly rejected and he never competed again.
