American Ninja Warrior 9 is the ninth season of the American Ninja Warrior tournament and the second tournament after Geoff Britten and Isaac Caldiero's total victories. It hosted six cities for qualifying rounds in Los Angeles, San Antonio (new city), Daytona Beach (new city), Kansas City, Cleveland (new city), and Denver, with finals being held in Las Vegas. The logo for American Ninja Warrior was changed.

In this season, three new rules have been put into play for female competitors:
1. The top five female competitors from each Qualifier will move on to the City Finals.
2. The top two female competitors from each City Finals will move on to the Las Vegas' National Finals.
3. There will be no wildcards to be rewarded.

Also, with the announcement of the American Ninja Warrior Obstacle Design Challenge last season, in which people created an obstacle which will be modified and be used in one of the courses. There are seven obstacles, submitted from the fans, and will be used in this season.
