The Alphabet Parley (アルファベットパーレイ) was the third obstacle in the First Marine Stage in VIKING 3, pushing back all of the obstacles after it one spot further, increasing the number of obstacles from eight to nine. It was similar to the Parley, however instead of solving an addition problem, this obstacle dealt with figuring out the English alphabet. After pressing a button to stop the random generator, it will read and letter and a number. The competitor would then have to yell the answer in a microphone corresponding to the problem. For example, if the board read "3 before S", the competitor would yell "P" to move on. Guessing incorrectly dropped you into the water via a trapdoor.
